Cashman Dredging & Marine Contracting Co., LLC provided marine support for installing the first-ever cable landfall conduit for offshore wind in NY State. The conduit will eventually carry the export cable for the South Fork Wind Farm, which will deliver enough electricity to Long Island to power 70,000 homes annually. The initial project execution schedule was from mid-November to mid-January, however, through the collaboration, planning and detailed execution plans described here, the project finished 1 month ahead of schedule (40% improvement) with the highest safety, permitting and quality standards in place.
